Monthly Wrap

Well, it has been one hell of a month. Let’s review.

Life Beyond the Blog

As I write this, the little tiny bunny is crawling around my bed and getting in the way. If I stop to pet her, she wants nothing to do with me, but if I keep writing, she can and will do everything in her power to be a nuisance. I love her so much.

Anyway, it’s been busy! My mom’s ankle is finally healed, my brother is getting ready to go to college, my sister has been busy with dance, and I’ve been working on reaching my 50k goal for Camp NaNoWriMo! I also finished painting my room (that took nearly a week to do), and I’m THIS CLOSE (okay, like twenty episodes away) from finishing The Adventure Zone: Balance arc. I’m almost done with Eleventh Hour, though, and that’s been a time travel loop DELIGHT, so totally worth my time even though I struggle with podcasts and audio processing.

I was also lucky enough to go to the Liverpool vs Man United soccer game on the 28th, and I had seats 8 ROWS FROM THE PITCH, which was amazing! The game ended 4-1 Liverpool, and some of the goals were just incredible, especially that bicycle kick at 82′. The whole thing was just incredible and I still can’t believe my mom managed to get tickets for us.

Basically, it’s been a lot, but it’s mostly been fun. The only bummer is that this is my last ever summer break, so it feels like time is flying by way too fast. I’m not ready for senior year. Or most of the scary adult-type stuff beyond college. I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m not very good at making it up. Help.

Books Read and Reviewed

With Camp NaNo, I haven’t had nearly as much time to read as I did last month, but I still got through 5 books! This brings my Goodreads challenge up to 42/50, and it means I have reviews scheduled every Monday up through September 17th. It’s really, really satisfying to be totally honest.

My review for Strange Grace is already available, but keep an eye out for reviews of Edge of the AbyssA Conjuring of Light, and The Last Magician in the future!

Next Month’s Reads

I’m not going to count on myself to read too many books next month since I’m doing another round of Camp NaNo AND senior year begins at the end of the month. That’s definitely going to cut into my reading time, which I’ve already accepted.

I really would like to get around to a couple books, though, and Everless is at the top of my list, as well as The Diviners (for a reread). Fingers crossed I have time!

My Top Three Posts

It’s been a bit of a sparse month for posts from me, but these were my favorite to write up this month.

1. The Wicked Deep Review

2. Rosemarked Buddy Read and Review

3. DNF Difficulty

Favorites From Around the Blogging World

And as always, of course I’m going to feature some posts by other bloggers! You guys never fail to amaze, and these were some of my absolute favorites for July.

Cait @ Paper Fury made a post about how she got 40k+ followers on her Instagram! Makes me want to take the plunge at at least try Instagram now, haha.

Camilla @ Reader in the Attic provided a treasure trove of graphics resources!

Speaking of graphics, Aentee @ Read at Midnight did such stunning graphics for Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik!

Bibi @ Bibi’s Book Blog wrote about bookworming on a budget!

Kaleena @ Reader Voracious graced us all with an awesome set of spreadsheets for book blogging management and fun stats, in case you’re a numbers kind of person!

Silje @ Inked by Books did a really nifty TBR swap with a friend, which is such a cool idea!

Angelica @ The Book Cover Girl recommended The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell and was 100% right about how good it was!

I hope your July has been as fruitful as mine, and that your August promises to treat you well! Happy Tuesday, folks!
