Day Three

Quote 03.png

“‘Difficult’ and ‘impossible’ are cousins often mistaken for one another, with very little in common.”

Scott Lynch, Red Seas Under Red Skies

Fun fact: this was my senior quote in high school (partly because a lot of the other quotes in this book would not have passed through editing without getting censored for language)! I love it because it’s nice and grounding when my anxiety starts to take off. Am I freaking out over something impossible to control, or is it just difficult?

Also, in context, this is a book about thieves who are attempting to be pirates (emphasis onΒ attempting), and the whole series is just The Disaster Thieves Somehow Survive Again Zone, which makes this quote more than a little entertaining even though it’s meant to be serious as well. Is it impossible? Or have The Disaster Thieves somehow just made it difficult instead?

TAGS

I tag YOU! I’ve tagged six people over two days, so I’ll open it up to anyone who’d like to give this a go. There’s totally no pressure to do this tag if you’re not feeling it, but if you do, I’d love to see the quotes you choose!
