Oh my goodness, what a month. There’s so much to cover in this wrap!
Life Beyond the Blog
It’s been A ROLLER COASTER. This is my first month back at school for my last ever year of school (lol you won’t catch me in grad school; I love learning, but academics brings me nothing but frustration), so it’s been super busy. I’ve been doing really well in my classes and love my professors, so that’s great! On the flipside, I was rejecting for a cool opportunity in publishing. Not great! I applied for a job on campus, which pays decently for part time, which is uncertain but potentially great! My Illumicrate box arrived safely at home and I won’t be home for a visit for about a week and a half. Waiting is the worst, but ultimately AMAZING because omg it’s the VE Schwab Magic and Mayhem box and it’s so worth it whenever I finally get the chance to bust it open (yes, expect either a post or stories on my Insta when I get to it)! So, really really great! Also, I put off a major art history project (which is one of my two minors and I should be more responsible about) until the last minute. My own fault, and not great! I finished The Adventure Zone: Balance and cried a lot, but good tears. Phenomenal storytelling, and super great! Watched The Dragon Prince and had fun, and started watching Crazy Ex Girlfriend, which is also fun. Great! Got sick and stayed in bed for a couple days. Not great!
Basically, life is all over the place at the moment. It’s not perfect, but it’s not a complete train wreck, so I’m ultimately kind of in this middling place if you look at it as a zero sum game. Which is okay! Better to be middlingly okay than freaking out and in the dumps the whole month.
Life’s gonna be fine. I’ll get a handle on it, or at least pretend to, and the world will keep turning.
Books Read and Reviewed
This month, I finished my Goodreads Challenge, getting myself up to 52 books out of 50! I’ll definitely read more before the end of the year, but I feel good about getting through five whole books while still balancing it with school work. You can see my reviews for Ruin of Stars and The Darkdeep already, and in the next month or two, you’ll be able to see reviews for Outrun the Wind, Everless, and Seraphina!
Next Monthβs Reads
Reading next month is really up in the air, but I’m planning to get through The Wren Hunt, Umbertouched, What You Hide, Girl in the Green Silk Gown, Song of the Current, and City of Ghosts. It’s a little ambitious, what with school looming, but I think it’s going to work if I make sure to carve out some time for it. And if I do all my homework on time, which is my downfall now and forever tbh.
If I get to anything, though, it’ll be the first three, since those are ARCs releasing soon, and I’d like to get my NetGalley ratio back up to 100% again.
My Top Three Posts
It’s always hard choosing my favorites for the month, but I’m going to have to say I had the best time writing these three!
1. A Conjuring of Light Review
2. Let’s Talk About Art Theft!

Thank you so much for including my post, lovely! Congratulations on finishing your GR challenge!
You’re very welcome!! And thank you. c: I’m very proud of myself for finding time for it.
Congrats on completing your reading challenge! And thanks for the shoutout!!
Thank you! And you’re welcome. π
Thank you so much for mentioning my post!! π
Oh I hope October will be a bit less of a roller-coaster month for you, but I can definitely relate because September was my first month of the new term in university too π΅ It has been really crazy already!
I’m really looking forward to your Everless review. I had mixed feelings on it but somehow it got me crazy immersed and now I’m looking forward to the sequel!
You’re so welcome!!
And oh gosh, hopefully it slows down. Life needs to just CHILL. And honestly, same! I’ll admit right now that I didn’t adore it and yet I want the sequel. Go figure?
Hahah I don’t know what it is with that book?! I usually don’t care too much for sequels if the first book wasn’t mindblowing but oh god I need this one π
I feel like it was the fact that it actually gained steam right at the end. Like, I didn’t love it, but now I need to know the resolution.
