Here we are, the last day of 2018. 2019 is just around the corner, as is a new year of books, of blogging, of basically everything.
Best to look back first, though, I think.
Life Beyond the Blog
I’m mostly going to look at this month, since the whole year is overwhelming, and…this month is a little overwhelming?
I finished my second to last semester of school EVER, and I’m waiting on my grades to come in. This meant writing three major papers and doing a group project and taking a very full sit-down exam AND somehow sleeping between all of that.
After that, I survived the Christmas mayhem in my house, and even did a little tiny bit of writing I wasn’t sure I’d have time for. Lo and behold, I made time. Funny how rarely that happens.
But basically, December has roared by at absolute top speed, and I’m still a little bit in shock from it all. Where did it go? Where did 2018 go? What’s going on? Can anyone slow this down?
HELP.
Books Read and Reviewed
I’ve managed to read four books amidst all this holiday chaos, and three of those reviews are already out! You can read my thoughts on Girls of Paper and Fire, The Forgetting, and Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea on the blog, while you’ll be able to read all about White Stag next week!
Next Monthβs Reads
I figure that since January is the start of the new year, I’m going to make an effort to read all new books! Not necessarily new releases, but new to me books. This includes the other four or five ARCs in my line-up, plus Way of Kings (WHAT A BRICK OF A BOOK), graciously lent to me by my roommate, and heavy enough to throw through a window probably. It’ll be a good start to my standard reading goal of 50 books a year.
My Top Three Posts
As always, I like to share my three favorite posts with you guys, the ones I had the most fun writing each month! For December, these three take the cake:
Books That Would Make Amazing Video Games
Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
Favorites From Around the Blogging World
And as for posts from the wider blogging world, these were some of the ones that best drew my eye!
Tiffany @ Read by Tiffany lists her most anticipated releases by Asian authors for 2019!
Fanna @ Fannatality lists her most anticipated LGBTQIA+ books for 2019!
Jessica @ Odd and Bookish shares her tips for creating a yearly reading goal!
Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books talked a Secret Agentβ’ about getting ARC approvals!
Natasha @ Sapphic Solace shares her most anticipated sapphic releases for 2019!
And it looks like that’s it for the month and the year! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have movies to watch and snacks to be sampled while my family and I chill for the rest of New Year’s. See you on the flipside, and may your new year be absolutely amazing!
Thank you so much for featuring my post! I’m sending you all my best wishes for your final grades. I’m sure you did amazing <3 I also read Girls of Paper and Fire this month, and I absolutely love it π
