Weekly Wrap

For whatever reason, it doesn’t actually feel like I turned 22 this week, but we all know that time and I tend to be at odds with one another, and that understanding the elusive nature of moments passing us by is HARD.

But we’re going to try and recap the week anyway, because that’s what Saturdays are for on the Words Gremlin!

Life Beyond the Blog

Obviously, the big feature this week is THE BIRTHDAY. Which I actually did not do a whole lot for. I had tacos for dinner and got the day off work since I’m not available on Wednesdays anyway, and it was overall a chill day. Nothing special or over the top. Just food and chilling out, which I do on any given day off from work, and that’s a-okay by me!

I also ended up signing up for a class to learn how to sew, survived another week in retail (I think I lucked out; I work somewhere that isn’t all that bad with lots of kind regulars who visit the store), and read some books. Altogether, it feels remarkably average for a week that also includes whirling around the sun for another year, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

That said, I didn’t do a lick of writing like I said I would last weekly wrap, and I’m frustrated by that, but I haven’t figured out how to balance writing with work yet. It’s driving me up the wall, and I know I need to get back in the habit soon or I’ll fall out of practice and get into a discouraged funk all over, but it’s hard. If anyone has a magic fix for adding more hours to the day without diving deep into sleep deprivation, let me know, okay?

The Week Ahead

Lots of blog work! I have a bunch of posts I want to run next month, and I’m going to use my days off to really get a head start on them. Plus Netflix emailed me to say there’s another season of GBBO coming on Friday, so I know what I’m doing that day (the gods of retail even gave me the day off by chance omg)!

Maybe I can sneak in some writing as well, since I’m working shifts either in the morning or evening, instead of middle of the day shifts that interrupt my workflow really badly. But that’s admittedly up in the air until I find out for sure how to strike the balance I’m after. I might be able to try getting the brain cells going by changing locations, though, because my brother is headed off to school next week, and I can take over his desk very subtly. He’ll never even know I was there, and I can use A REAL DESK… HMMM…

I hope you’ve had an excellent week, and that the week ahead has all kinds of good things in store. See you around!
