Can you believe it’s already the end of September? That we’re 75% of the way through the year?
I can, actually, and it’s TERRIFYING. SLOW DOWN, PLEASE.
But if we’re going to get caught up in time’s relentless forward march, then let’s do a quick recap of where we’ve been for the last month!
Life Beyond the Blog
It seems like life beyond the blog has actually been relatively quiet. Save for my announcement about the blog redesign and my future book sleeve offerings (stay tuned! I have more news in that department waiting for the appropriate moment), and my transition to using she/they instead of just she/her (which has been…strange but satisfying in my quest to wrestle gender), there’s not much new! Granted, maybe there will be something new by the end of the day, since I have a vet visit with my rabbit to address a lump we found on her belly (think good thoughts for her if you’ve got a moment to spare!), but otherwise? Zilch.
Basically all I’ve done this month is read and watch murder mysteries on Netflix. It’s nothing exciting or earthshattering or even mildly entertaining, but hey, if the transition to fall is a steady one instead of one where the universe dropkicks me into next week to let me know the seasons are changing, I suppose I shouldn’t complain too much!
Books Read and Reviewed
Speaking of reading, somehow, I managed to read 16 books this month! It helps that a couple were graphic novels, but I definitely had the bug. Those GNs aside, everything has been reviewed on the blog already this month save for The Luminous Dead, which you’ll get to see on Wednesday!
Next Month’s Reads
I highly doubt this coming month is going to be nearly so ambitious in the reading department, since I have to prep for NaNoWriMo, but you never know! I’ve got two ARCs to read (they’re my last two, no way!), and then I’ll be tackling Susan Dennard’s Something Strange and Deadly trilogy, These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabelle Sterling, and an ARC gifted to me by a friend of Peternelle van Arsdale’s The Beast is an Animal. Beyond that, there’s nothing else set in stone on the TBR!
My Top Three Posts
There were so many fun posts to choose from this month, but these are the three I took the most joy in sharing with you all!
1. Can’t Wait Wednesday: Gravemaidens (and a Pin Display How-To!)
2. The Ruin of Angels Review (AKA the “be gay, do crimes” book!)
3. Friday for Funsies: Tropes I Love!
