Making it to yet another Weekly Wrap feels like an achievement sometimes, this week especially. I can’t seem to keep my head on straight, and the end of the week is my chance to reflect and maybe even get my life in order. Will it work this time?
Truthfully, probably not. If all my problems could be fixed in a weekend, making it to Saturday might not feel like an achievement. But we’re going to try and make it work anyhow! Nothing like a little relentless optimism, right?
Life Beyond the Blog
So this week wasn’t what I wanted it to be. Some unexpected news came up and tossed me around enough to rattle me into a funk. Turns out grief that’s nearly a decade old can still play hardball if it gets the right push. That said, it almost felt good to get that emotion out of my system. It’s related to something I’m not sure I ever properly processed, and there’s something to be said for a good cry and turning in early for the night. I wouldn’t say it made me feel better, but it does feel…lighter, in some ways.
And where emotional hardball isn’t concerned, my wild sleep schedule is. I can’t remember the last time I went to bed and got up at consistent times, and it’s really showing these days as I struggle to find some semblance of a schedule again. Staying up late and sleeping late work well with my personal rhythms, but they’re at odds with the rest of my life, namely the job that operates during, y’know, daytime hours.
Hey, at least I haven’t been late to work, right? Just getting nervous in traffic and clocking in at light speed is all!
Other than that, I’m prepping my room for a good spring cleaning (never mind that it’s officially fall, hush), and I’m starting to get an idea of which Christmas presents I’ll be giving my family and friends. Shopping and crafting now will save me a lot of hassle as the holidays get closer, and it feels good to be prepared.
This also may have spurred the cleaning. I don’t have room to hide presents, wrapped or not, so it’s time to make room. And did I ever mention how cleaning helps me keep a lid on my anxiety? All in all, not a bad project for a week like this!

The Week Ahead
Next week, my schedule doesn’t allow for the kind of downtime I find most productive. To combat that, I’m loading the front of my week with the trickiest tasks, and easing up from there. Hopefully by Tuesday morning, I’ll have cleaned my room, baked cookies, read a book or two, and finished stitching a hoop, all in time to head off to work! After that, it’ll be largely blog work, as I want to block off the bulk of October for NaNoWriMo prep.
That’s right, NaNoWriMo. It’s only a little over a month away, and that means it’s time to put my planning in high gear! And to do that, I need as much blog upkeep out of the way as soon as possible. The more posts I have at least partially drafted by next Weekly Wrap, the better. It’ll lighten my workload, and leave me more time to aggressively daydream some sort of workable plot into existence.
I’ve attempted a last minute pantser run a couple times, and it’s back to plotter strategies this year. Pantsing a whole novel, even as a first draft, is just too stressful for me. 😱
Anyway, I hope to have a handle on next week early, but we’ll have to wait and see if it gets away from me like it did this week. At the moment, though, I’m taking advantage of a surprise four day weekend to make it work. Wish me luck!
I’ll see you around for the next Weekly Wrap (which will be in October, oh dear), and I hope the coming week treats you right. 💛
Hopefully next week goes better for you! Xx
I’m definately better set on « evening mode ».. i’m just NOT a morning person xd. I’d do it, but as I can’t sleep before atleast midnight/1am, waking up at 545 is harsh and I SO need a nap afterward. That sometimes makes me feel so bad about being on an opposite schedule than basically everyone else though..
Fingers crossed. 😖 And oh, I FEEL THAT. It’s just…inconvenient sometimes but it’s just how it works. Nothing frustrates quite like figuring out your natural awake times. 😩
I’ve been meaning to fix that but errh.. as the melatonin caplets don’t work on my system AND randomly wake me up at the middle of the night (which is labelled to prevent THAT..) idk what to do now xD
Oooh I wish I could give you some advice, but melatonin DOES work for me, so I’m not sure I can really help you with that. 😥
Arh.. thanks though! Ive seen a sleeping monthly box, which kinda intrigues me .. but I wonder if it would even work on me this time xd and we all know that with covid rn, aherm
I hope next week you will feel a bit better!
