October 17th, 2020
Yes, we are halfway through October, and no, as of this Weekly Wrap, I still do not have my October bullet journal set up. Someone come and poke me with a stick until I get it done, please? Or we might move into November with nothing but sketches on the page. Yikes. 😱
Life Beyond the Blog
I’ve spent most of this week thinking about how nice my finished bujo will look…and then not doing it. Apparently, it’s major executive dysfunction hours over here, and I am not doing a stellar job of moving past them. Just when I think I’m ready to start a task, the brief burst of energy vanishes. Lately, this keeps landing me on the couch to watch Schitt’s Creek with my mom (which, to be fair, has let me catch up on a show for the first time in months). Or I just take a nap.
Nothing hits quite like a good nap. Or the dread that follows when you realize you could have used those three hours to accomplish at least one little fifteen minute task, you know?
But that’s probably why I went back to Habitica this week. I used it waaaaayyyy back when for a while and then quit when my party quit. Why I didn’t just find a new party, I have no clue. But it’s a very user-friendly little habit tracker with cute pixels and a community dedicated to encouragement. I’ve never encountered any drama with it, and it works well as both a solo and a group experience. Plus, it’s entirely free to use! Sure, there’s some paid perks I’m seriously eyeballing (and if I pay for it, maybe that will force me to continue using it), but you don’t have to spend a dime if you don’t want to.
If you decide to give it a whirl, send me a message @Tues and I’ll happily let you folks join my party! Quests are easier with a bigger group, and the more the merrier! Plus, there’s a certain satisfaction to checking your tasks off. I just checked off my Weekly Wrap habit! Instant gratification!

The Week Ahead
Dusty’s surgery is, of course, at the front of my mind. He goes in Monday morning, and while I’m trying to be optimistic, I can’t help but take into account the fact that he’s nine. That’s old for a rabbit, and there’s a risk he won’t make it back out of the anesthetic. But it’s a risk we have to take, given that the surgery is to remove something guaranteed to ruin his quality of life for whatever time he has left.
Until the surgery is over with, one way or another, I can’t say I have plans this week. Yeah, my mom’s birthday is coming, and I’m planning to set aside some time for the Sword and Shield DLC that drops on Thursday, but the rabbits come first. They always have. They always will.
Best case scenario, though, I’m hoping to squeeze in some NaNoWriMo plotting (tis the season!), along with some stitching. Try to find some normal in the middle of the very not normal and all that jazz.
I hope you’re having a good week, and that you have an even better one ahead. See you in the next Weekly Wrap!💛
Sending lots of good thoughts to Dusty. I hope the procedure goes well for him.
Thank you very much. We’ve all got our fingers crossed. 💕
