Folks, we’ve got bunnies on the brain. Baby bunnies, to be precise. Two weeks’ worth of them. This Weekly Wrap is heading in exactly one direction, and I hope you’re as excited as I am! 🐰

Life Beyond the Blog

It’s true! At the end of the month, I’m adopting two baby bunnies! They’ll be eight weeks old on the 24th, ready to leave their momma, and then they’ll be coming to live with me. I spent the last week preparing their pen and ordering their supplies, and now I’m going to spend the next week and a half anxiously awaiting adoption day. Maybe it was silly to get their pen set up so far in advance, but what can I say? I’m excited!

At the moment, we don’t know if they’re boys or girls. The current owner is not a breeder so much as a lovely gal who was told both of her bunnies were girls (only for one to be very much not a girl, and now a dad). Cue baby bunnies by surprise, a search for their homes, and then me frantically rearranging everything to accommodate them. What can I say? Their sweet little bunny faces deserve the best I can give them!

And thankfully, since I work for a vet, I’ll be able to find out whether they’re boys or girls (and more importantly, if we have to separate them until everyone has been spayed/neutered), and I get to show them off to my coworkers! At the moment, I don’t have pictures for you all, or names, since I think I need to meet them and get to know them a little first, but rest assured, you’ll get the goods soon. Before Halloween, if I had to guess… 👀

Other than that, though, there’s very little happening. Nothing is a more powerful force in my life right this second than getting the little buns moved in and comfortably settled to their new home! And, of course, making sure the two lovely gals I currently have don’t feel neglected. They won’t be able to meet the babies until after the little ones have been fixed, but it’s my hope to introduce them one day. Just so many plans to be made!

The Week Ahead

BUNNIES.

Okay, not really, since I’m getting them the 25th this month. They still need time with their mom before they’re ready to go home. And I’ve bought all their supplies, so there’s really not much to do but twiddle my thumbs and wait. Easily the hardest part of it all, truth be told, and I don’t expect to accomplish much keeping a close eye on the countdown to adoption day.

If I manage to make something happen, though, I want to do some reading. All the page-turning I meant to do fell by the wayside when I confirmed the adoption. Just so much supply shopping to do, and so much excitement to channel into something productive! Which means I haven’t gotten through much of this month’s TBR. Hopefully, though, we’ll get to change that over the next seven days.

Maybe. Like I said: the baby bunnies come first. There is no other possible order to this situation!
