Been a while since there was a Weekly Wrap, huh? Blame all the busy Saturdays I’ve had over the last month, and then come join me in enjoying some time to relax!
Life Beyond the Blog
Really, it’s been so busy. I’ve worked three Saturdays in a row, which are the busiest days at my job, and we normally set the schedule so you get a Saturday off after each one you work. (I was nice and covered a coworker who had something important to do on her usual Saturday. I am still nice, but now I am tired.)
Toss in three new bunnies who are a whole lot of work, along with going to see Hadestown, and the general holiday rush, and it’s kind of no wonder that I’ve missed a few wraps as of late! Frankly, it’s kind of amazing I have any energy to spare.
But really, it’s all been amazing. Hadestown was an outrageously amazing experience, and I would go see it again in a heartbeat if I had the money for another round of tickets. I think the touring cast could give the Broadway cast a true run for their money, and it was immensely gratifying to see such a stunning retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. The layers to it, the phenomenal set design, the little visual details of the stage production that make the soundtrack all the more powerful?
I’m so in love.
And yes, backtracking a little, I did say three rabbits! The two baby buns have been with us since late October, but we welcomed one more right after Thanksgiving. His name is Po, after the main character in Kung Fu Panda, and we think it’s pretty fitting, given how much he looks like a nice little panda. He’s about a year old, and he was first rehomed after the family dog ate his littermate, then rehomed to us when his rescuer received an eviction notice for having too many animals in what was supposed to be a pet-free apartment.
All three of these new buns are driving us a little bonkers with their destructive tendencies, but that’s okay. In a little over a week, they’re all getting spayed and neutered! Less chewing, less digging, and a whole lot less peeing on things to mark territory! I can’t wait!
They’re so lucky they’re cute, or they’d been in even more trouble than they are. 😂
The Week Ahead
The holidays are…upon us. I’d love to say I’m planning to kick back and relax, but that isn’t happening. I have presents to make, wrap, and mail, and that doesn’t even include holiday cards! Somewhere around the equally busy work week, I have to make all these things happen.
Christmas comes the same time every single year, and yet I always seem to find myself down to the wire on getting things done. 🤦
If I get a Christmas miracle to happen, though, I’m hoping to do some reading. I doubt I’ll reach my Goodreads goal of 75 books, but I can at least put a few more titles on my list. Maybe. Of course, maybe I’m better off hoping I just finish reading the two ARCs I have due before the end of the month.
No matter what, I’m going to be busy, busy, busy! For the first time in a while, though, it feels like good busy.
So, how are you? It’s been quite some time. Let’s catch up! Tell me what’s new with you this week, and what you’re looking forward to! And while you’re at it, enjoy the holiday season as it rolls in. 💛
