If there ever comes a day where I don’t care about a new mainline Pokémon game, ask me as many questions as you can, and try to see if I was hacked, because I don’t think there will ever be a day where Pokémon doesn’t have my heart, soul, and wallet all lined up in adoration.
And Sword and Shield, despite all the concerns raised since the first reports of the game came out, continues that time-honored tradition of stealing my heart and all of my free time.
If nothing else, I am a hopelessly devoted fan of the Luigi’s Mansion series. The original was one of the first video games I remember playing on the GameCube (along with Super Mario Sunshine, which is criminally underrated and deserves a sequel for the Switch), and its spooky-with-a-side-of-cute flavor captured my heart from day one.
Now that was in 2002. 17 whole years later, I still love this weird green man and his reluctant ghostbusting gig, and it gives me all kinds of joy to say that Nintendo knocked Luigi’s Mansion 3 out of the park!
Apparently the Netflix gods heard my requests, because not only did S4 of She-Ra get a full thirteen episodes, but it delivered on every emotional beat, repeatedly punching me in the face with all the emotions I could have possibly cycled through in five short hours.
The short verdict? Oh my god, please watch this series, I’m begging you.
The long verdict? Yeah, that’s going below the cut, because it’s going to be SO LONG. And also peppered with spoilers, so beware.
Now that about a month has passed since the close of TAZ: Amnesty, it’s time for the post you’ve all been waiting for (at least, I hope): my oh-so-professional PODCAST OPINIONS!
Even if you weren’t waiting for them, though, they’re here all the same, complete with spoilers so I can discuss this campaign in full. For those of you that haven’t finished the arc, I recommend coming back later!
Every blogger needs a break from books, even me. Thankfully, games like The Yawhg exist to provide that perfect chance to step away from the page without stepping away from the wonderful possibilities of fiction.
While I’m still mad Netflix decided to split S2 into two shorter seasons instead of one 13-episode season, I have to say that S3 of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power delivers, and almost three weeks after watching it, I’m STILL trying to recover from the emotional blows. It was brilliantly done in almost every way, and the fact that we don’t have an air date for S4 yet has me ANTSY.
Give me the goods, Netflix, I’m begging you.
Anyway, some degree of spoilers ahead for S3 as I get into just why it was so devastatingly fantastic this season!
So, I’m back from that vacation I mentioned in the Weekly Wrap from the 18th, and I can finally say at last that my mystery destination was Seattle! And because I love to chatter about things, I figured I’d give you guys a run-down on some of the neat things I did and saw while I was there! And yes, this is another Not a Book! Thursday that secretly has a little something to do with books. How can I resist?
