My greatest talent is procrastinating.

That’s why today is a Top 5 Tuesday Triple, beginning with Hyped Books (Still) on my TBR! Thanks to Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads suggesting it for a topic earlier this month, and to my own ability to delay things, I’m using today to post about how far behind I am, and to catch up.

Yep, instead of reading all these books on my TBR, I’m just doing three weeks’ worth of T5T posts instead! My priorities are obviously rock solid. Right?

Sometimes, things that are hyped are good.

I’m a bit of a contrarian, so that’s not always true for me. But in these five cases, the books were well worth the hype, and I’m still thinking about them. To be honest, this T5T topic carries a lot of pressure behind it.

There are so many amazing authors out there, and I’m sure plenty of them are authors I haven’t yet picked up. But in true bookworm fashion, Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads is making me reexamine and cherish my TBR just a week after shaking my head at its towering heights. Will I ever survive a Top 5 Tuesday with my dignity still intact?

The answer is probably no. Especially since today’s topic, books I meant to read in 2020, seems to be Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads‘s perfect way of making me expose my towering TBR. I keeping saying I’ll read all these books, but have I gotten to them?

The answer always seems to be not yet. 😳

Also, it’s Thursday, not Tuesday, and this is a topic from two weeks ago. How’s that for chucking my dignity and blogging reliability out the window all in one go?

And we’re returning to the part where I reveal how much of my TBR remains unread! In this case, we’re looking at series I haven’t finished. It must be Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads reminding me of all the books waiting on my shelf, judging me hardcore for still not picking me up.

Maybe a little shame is what it takes to see these series through to the end?

It’s time to call it: here are the very best titles of the year.

Okay, so it’s a little subjective, but hush, we knew it would be that way. That’s the whole point of Top 5 Tuesday (oh so graciously hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads)! More than that, it’s the point of naming the best five books of 2020, which is a surprisingly easy thing to do. If you’re struggling, just do what I do, and search for books you’ve rated five stars.

Or you could do what I also do and agonize over every little detail in your reviews until you’re 100% certain these are the best! Harder than it looks, I guess! 🥴

If you say you’ve never judged a book by its cover, I’m not sure I believe you.

Frankly, book covers do too much work for us not to judge them. Sure, the quality of the book inside may vary, but covers are so important in that initial moment of contact, and do so much work! These covers, though, are my favorite covers of 2020, and the topic of today’s Top 5 Tuesday post! Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads is the wonderful host, and is absolutely killing me with her excellent topic choices!

I genuinely only asked for one thing this year: books.

Never mind that my TBR is staring at me with the most judgmental of looks. I have all kinds of books on my holiday wishlist, and today, I’m sharing the five I’d be most excited to receive! It’s all thanks to Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads, who runs Top 5 Tuesday and regularly encourages me to make my TBR bigger. It’s a mutual antagonism, filled with holiday cheer!
